Ad hoc Working groups

In response to an event of concern, the steering group may decide to create a dedicated and temporary working group. More information about ad hoc working groups can be found in the SEARN strategy to ensure preparedness against public health emergencies.

Mpox

During its meeting on 28 August 2024, the extended Steering group of SEARN considered that a coordinated response from the Network was required to address mpox and requested the creation of a dedicated working group to ensure the preparedness of the Network. The SEARN coordinated response and the Mpox Ad Hoc working group concluded in July 2025.

 

Intra-Action review

On 16 July, the Assembly adopted the final intra-action review report of SEARN's response to mpox:

The report incorporated recommendations from two virtual meetings conducted with Stakeholders on SEARN response to Mpox:

The recommendations, intended to strengthen SEARN's regulatory preparedness, will be followed up through Action point 12 Preparedness.
